Freshers are faced with 2 kinds of difficulties in their job
search. First, when they don’t have job opportunities with them and Second,
when they have more than one or two opportunities.
Lot of fresher’s i have come across in my career span of a
decade, where they reject the opportunity provided to them in hope of getting
better opportunity than the one in hand. And lot of them when spends time in
the market for job search, regrets losing the first opportunity. So, how to
decide whether to choose or reject the opportunity in hand.
I have made a road map for the freshers on how to exactly
look for a job search. This is based on 3 principals as explained below.
Get a job first: This is very important. Believe me, if a
candidate is getting selected after clearing various rounds, it confirms that
the candidate is employable. It also helps the candidate understand the process
and helps them in further preparations. Never say ‘NO’.
Its also important for the candidate to read the profile and
make their minds to join the company on that profile.
Look for quality: After getting your offer, now a candidate
must set a time frame for themselves to look for quality package or a location
(if thats a preference). Candidates can look for better options in the same set
of jobs or may explore other options.
Look for job in your core area of interest: Placement in
core area of interest or domain remains the priority for the fresher candidates
and the reality is, jobs in core fields are less than the supply. Again, a time
frame must be set.
This is the roadmap which i can vouch for the frehers as i
have seen people adapting this, are always high on confidence and their chances
of getting a great career launch is also assured. The candidates always have
something to fall back and as it is said- ‘Something is better than nothing’.
